Short Term Contract Finance Assistant

Job Purpose:

Provide essential support to finance department by handling various administrative and accounting tasks. This role involves maintaining financial records, processing transactions, assisting with financial analysis.

Main Outcome / Key Results:

  • Efficient and organised maintenance of finance and accounting records
  • Accurate and timely processing of financial transactions and data
  • Provision of administrative support to the finance team

Process/Technical Function and Responsibility:

  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports
  • Process invoices, accounts payable reconciliation, payments, and other financial transactions and ensure all are properly documented
  • Support month end and year end financial closing process
  • Respond to inquiries from vendors, clients and internal staff
  • Perform data entry and ensure accuracy of financial information
  • Receives daily collection and ensure the safekeeping
  • Ensures timely deposit/bank in of cash/cheques
  • Monitors and follows up on all receivables
  • Support audits and implement audit recommendations
  • Any other tasks deemed appropriate by Line Manager/Management

Education/Experience:

  • Advanced Diploma or High National Diploma in Finance and Accounting with minimum 1 year experience or related field.
  • Basic or Foundation Certificate in Accounting & Finance is preferred
